UMUAWULU – Igwe Joel Egwuọnwụ, the revered Traditional Ruler of Umuawulu in the Awka South Council Area, has issued a heartfelt plea to Ndi Anambra residing abroad. His message? To remember their roots and channel their overseas resources for the upliftment and advancement of their native state.
This clarion call was delivered from the comforts of his palace, where he engaged in a productive dialogue with the media. His appeal dovetails with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s rigorous efforts to establish Anambra as a prosperous and liveable region for its citizens.
Further expounding on his message, the Umuawulu Monarch stressed that it is not merely about answering the call, but understanding the collective benefit it brings. He voiced his belief that all Ndi Anambra, irrespective of their global positioning, hold a shared responsibility to give back to their homeland.
Governor Soludo’s tenure hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Monarch. Igwe Egwuọnwụ lavished praise upon the Governor for his accelerated infrastructural and economic initiatives. He made particular mention of notable projects like the Amansea – Ebenebe – Awba-Ofemmili and Okpuno Isuanaocha roads, the Awka Etiti Igbo-ukwu-Ekwulọbịa road, the under-construction Ekwulọbịa flyover, and the revolutionary agricultural projects focusing on palm and coconut.
Focusing on the Ekwulọbịa flyover, Igwe Egwuọnwụ believes its completion will greatly alleviate the region’s notorious festive season traffic jams. His confidence in Governor Soludo’s administrative abilities remains unwavering, firmly believing in Soludo’s political determination to realize such commendable projects.
Highlighting the significant reduction in insecurity since Governor Soludo’s assumption of office, Igwe Egwuọnwụ emphasized the critical link between peace, development, and security.
